Biggie, a white-and-tabby cat, first arrived at the Clifton Animal Shelter when his owner sadly fell ill and could no longer provide care. Barely a year old at the time, Biggie brought with him a big heart and an even bigger appetite. At first, the environment was overwhelming—unfamiliar sounds, strange smells, and the confinement of a cage left him anxious. But with time, patience, and lots of love, the staff discovered the way to his heart: food.
Step by step, Biggie started to gain confidence. He ventured out of his cage more often, his eyes brightened, and his true personality began to shine. What once was a timid cat soon transformed into a playful and affectionate companion, eager to interact with everyone around him.

Despite his size, Biggie still acts like a kitten at heart. He adores chasing wand toys, leaping across furniture, and pouncing around with all the excitement of a playful youngster. After a session of zoomies, his energy quickly transforms into cuddles—turning into a total love bug. Whenever Liz, a shelter staff member, visits, Biggie eagerly waits to be scooped up in her arms, soaking up the warmth and attention he craves.

“This is the real Biggie,” Liz shared. “Sometimes he gets nervous and doesn’t show his best side, but he is incredibly food-motivated and eager for love. Every day I open his cage, and without fail, he leaps into my arms. That’s all he wants.” Once free, Biggie enjoys roaming the shelter, receiving every bit of affection, and showing off his lively and sweet nature.

Playful, mischievous, and endlessly entertaining, Biggie can shift from racing around like a little tiger to flopping down for belly rubs in an instant. He loves making eye contact—especially if there’s a treat bag in sight. With each interaction, he shows how much he has grown from the timid cat he once was.

“When Biggie first arrived, the shelter was overwhelming and frightening for him. But through patience and care, he realized that people aren’t so scary. With his expressive face and curious eyes, Biggie brings joy without even trying. If you have treats or chicken, you’ve got a shortcut to his heart—he’ll do just about anything for a bite. To keep himself busy at the shelter, Biggie has taken on “clerical duties,” supervising paperwork and guarding snack supplies, much to the amusement of the staff.

“He’s got it covered,” staff joked. “He’s been waiting for someone to notice that he’s not just a handsome face—he’s also a hardworking office assistant who occasionally sneaks in a nap.” Although he may look tough at first glance, Biggie is full of softness inside, balancing his energetic side with calm, loving moments.

Since December, Biggie has been waiting patiently for someone to see how special he truly is. Every day, he shows just how much love he has to give. All he needs is someone willing to give him a chance—a forever home where his big heart and playful personality will truly shine.
