It all started when a woman visited her local rescue, Foster Kitten Mama, intending to adopt two adorable kittens. But fate had something extra special in store — a third playful kitten captured her heart, and she simply couldn’t leave without all three.

Heidi Shoemaker, the founder of Foster Kitten Mama, had recently taken in a heavily pregnant cat named Eden, who had spent days hiding at a noisy animal shelter. Thankfully, just after arriving in foster care, Eden went into labor and gave birth to three healthy kittens.

“She got here just in time. I’m so thankful I was able to get those fleas off her before the babies were born,” Heidi said. Eden’s three babies — two with adorable cow markings and one solid black — quickly began nursing. Safe from the chaos of the shelter, the young mother cat finally felt peace and comfort as she cared for her newborns.

The kittens thrived under Eden’s care, gaining weight rapidly and always cuddling together. Even before their eyes opened, they were inseparable — a tiny family bound by warmth and love. With Heidi’s gentle support, Eden became more confident as a mother, and her kittens grew into active, healthy little explorers.

“Eden is still a timid girl,” Heidi explained, “but she’s going to be amazing once she decompresses from everything she’s been through.”

As the kittens grew, they began to run, jump, and climb with endless energy. Eden, still shy, often watched quietly from a cozy corner as her babies played. Whenever she seemed nervous, the kittens would curl up next to her, purring loudly as if to reassure her that everything was fine.

The trio — named Everette, Evan, and Elysse — turned into a lively bunch. They played non-stop, scaling posts, chasing toys, and wrestling with one another. Whenever Heidi tried to use the scratcher to help Eden socialize, the kittens would instantly jump on it, turning the moment into another fun game.

When it came time for pre-adoption, Elysse and Evan quickly caught a woman’s attention. She was completely smitten and immediately planned to bring the two home. But after seeing how close the third kitten, Everette, was to his siblings, she couldn’t bear the thought of separating them.

“She was originally going to adopt just two,” Heidi told Love Meow, “but she ended up saying she wanted all three!”

When the day arrived, the adopter held the three kittens in her arms, and they purred in unison — a perfect sign that they belonged together. “The adopter already has two young cats, so these three will have plenty of company and fun in their new home,” Heidi said.

“It’s such a wonderful feeling knowing they’ll always be together.”

After the kittens went to their forever home, Eden continued to make incredible progress. A week later, she too found her perfect match — a kind adopter who had previously welcomed two of Heidi’s other rescued mama cats. “Eden will now be forever safe and loved, and able to adapt at her own pace,” Heidi shared happily.
