Good Samaritans were stopped in their tracks by the piercing cries of a tiny kitten. Determined to find the source, they followed the sound all the way to an old shed. Beneath it, hidden in the shadows, they found a helpless three-week-old kitten, crying as loudly as he could for someone to help him. When they gently pulled him to safety, they noticed small bite marks on his neck and realized he was in desperate need of medical attention.

With no mother cat in sight, the rescuers quickly contacted local animal volunteers for help. Thankfully, Chatons Orphelins Montreal responded right away and secured a foster home for the little kitten that same day. “We named him Bokbok because he looked like a little chick with his shaved neck,” shared Celine from the rescue. “He was starving and devoured his food the moment we fed him with a syringe.”

His infected wounds were treated immediately, and he began receiving daily care to help him heal. His foster mom syringe-fed him every few hours to regain strength. His appetite was incredible, and within just a day, he gained a remarkable 40 grams — a huge achievement for such a small body. Over the next few days, Bokbok’s condition improved rapidly. His wounds started to close, his eyes brightened, and he soon began eating from a dish all by himself.

To ensure he never missed a meal, his foster mom took him everywhere in his tiny “private chariot.” Whenever his food was even slightly delayed, he would make sure everyone knew it by meowing loudly. Once his tummy was full, Bokbok would curl up with his favorite plush toy — a soft stuffed pig — which became his comfort companion for every nap.

As Bokbok grew stronger, his playful personality began to shine. He loved car rides with his foster mom, his big eyes wide with wonder as he explored every sight and sound around him. Though small, he was brave and full of spirit, always curious and never afraid to see what was ahead. “He’s been a lively little guy from the start,” said Celine. “He’s truly a fighter, lucky to be alive considering how fragile he was when we found him.”

Bokbok loved riding around in his carrier like a tiny prince surveying his kingdom. He carried himself with confidence far beyond his size, and his curiosity seemed endless. “He goes everywhere with his foster mom and wants to see everything happening around him,” Celine added.

Despite being the smallest in the household, Bokbok made it his mission to be part of every adventure. He soon bonded with the resident cats, following them everywhere and joining their daily mischief. The older cats welcomed him warmly — especially a senior cat who became his gentle guardian. Bokbok, fearless as ever, treated the bigger cats like equals and followed them with admiration and joy.

Nowadays, Bokbok loves spending his days basking in the warm sunlight by the window, curled up next to his “grandma cat.” He kneads her fur gently, purring happily until he falls asleep in complete peace. Though his real mother was never found, Bokbok now has a loving foster mom and a nurturing feline companion who fills that void in his heart.

From a frightened, injured kitten under a shed to a confident and joyful little explorer, Bokbok’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Thanks to the compassion of strangers and the dedication of his foster family, he’s grown into a healthy, happy cat whose adventurous spirit continues to brighten everyone’s day. Bokbok now faces the world with courage, curiosity, and an endless heart full of love.
