A tiny black-and-white kitten, later named Goose, was taken to a county shelter in desperate need of care. He weighed barely one pound, wasn’t interested in eating, and was suffering from a severe cold. Nadija, a dedicated foster volunteer with AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue, stepped in when she saw the urgent plea. Despite already fostering several kittens, she couldn’t ignore Goose’s fragile condition and decided to bring him home.

When Goose arrived, he was cold to the touch and barely responsive. Wrapped in blankets, he finally rested, but his condition was alarming. He struggled to maintain his body temperature and had little appetite. His foster mom soon discovered he was severely anemic, with pale gums and paw pads. At the vet, Goose underwent a life-saving blood transfusion that lasted over seven hours. With tube feeding and constant care, he began to drink from a bottle and showed small but hopeful signs of recovery.

Just as Goose started gaining strength, his left eye worsened. Despite every effort to save it, the infection spread quickly. His spirit, however, never faltered—he played, purred, and showed his growing personality. Eventually, he underwent surgery to remove the damaged eye.
