Jen, an experienced foster volunteer with Kitty of Angels, learned about three helpless kittens found abandoned. “They were left on the doorstep of a community member who helps with TNR,” Jen told Love Meow. The kittens were about two weeks old, unable to keep warm on their own, and desperately in need of round-the-clock care. Jen’s incubator was ready, and with the rescue’s approval, she immediately took them in.

On day one, the kittens ate well, but within days they developed blisters on their faces and legs and began to weaken. Jen switched to tube-feeding when they stopped nursing. With fluids, medications, and endless care, the kittens eventually regained enough strength to feed from the bottle again.

Weeks passed in a cycle of small improvements and setbacks. One day they would gain weight, the next they would lose it again. Jen stayed patient, giving them constant warmth, nutrition, and love. Slowly but surely, their determination shone through.

Fat Tony, the confident tabby, loved being at the center of attention. Louie Legs, smaller than his siblings, was endlessly affectionate. Johnny Tightlips, the black kitten and the sickest of the three, amazed everyone with her refusal to quit.

At six weeks, Louie finally looked healthy again, purring the moment he saw Jen. Their bodies strengthened, and their personalities blossomed—Fat Tony was both cuddly and playful, Tightlips became Jen’s shadow, and Louie loved to snuggle close.

By 7.5 weeks, the kittens were eating consistently and maintaining their weight. They were spayed/neutered on schedule, and it turned out Johnny Tightlips was actually a girl. Finally, they were ready for forever homes.

Fat Tony, the bossy cuddle champion, and Louie Legs, the gentle long-legged boy, were adopted together by a loving couple. Tightlips, loyal and affectionate, continues to wait for her perfect family.
